Experience three of America’s most iconic cities on an East Coast city-hop taking in NYC, Washington and Philadelphia - includes all flights and optional tours

New York

Your epic adventure begins in the heart of the most famous of all US cities, New York. From your Midtown digs, ticking off all the must-see sights will be a breeze. Join locals and tourists for a gentle meander through the tree-lined thoroughfares of Central Park or head to the industrial-meets-urban walkways of the High Line, taking a detour to Chelsea Market for a quick bite to eat. Later, squeeze in a spot of retail therapy with an afternoon spent shopping till you drop in the likes of Bergdorf Goodman on swanky Fifth Avenue.

At night, watch theatre pros tread the boards on Broadway, or see the city twinkle below from the dizzy heights of the Empire State Building (if you opt to include tours as part of your stay, you’ll enjoy the perks of a ‘skip-the line’ experience here). If you fancy venturing further afield, take a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge to explore the hip neighbourhoods of Williamsburg, Bushwick or Dumbo, where coffee shops, independent boutiques and buzzy bars reign supreme.

Philadelphia

The next stop on your tour is Philadelphia. As the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania and America’s very first capital, it’s a patchwork of lauded landmarks, bustling markets and sights of cultural and historic importance. Learn about America’s humble beginnings at Independence Hall, Declaration House and Congress Hall, visit the symbolic Liberty Bell or make like Rocky and run up the stairs of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, two at a time.

When you’re ready to come back to the present day, you’ll find a host of modern attractions to sink your teeth into (quite literally). Eat your way around Reading Terminal Market (Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches are basically mandatory here) or see where mobster Al Capone spent some of his years in captivity at the Eastern State Penitentiary. If you choose to include tours in your holiday, you’ll also experience the city’s line-up of major attractions - from the Science Museum to the One Liberty Observation Deck - with a handy Go Philadelphia all-inclusive pass.

Washington

Your trip comes to an end in Washington DC. The nation’s capital is best known for its history, heritage and political prowess, with a host of world-famous buildings and iconic monuments lining its streets - from The White House and Capitol Hill to the National Mall on the banks of the sparkling Potomac. You’ll also find a wealth of museums to explore here too, from the National Air and Space Museum to the Smithsonian and National Museum of African Art. Come spring, the city’s iconic Cherry Blossoms burst into life, painting its streets in kaleidoscopic shades of pink. If you opt to include excursions as part of your stay, you’ll enjoy a VIP city tour, with backstage access to the historic U.S Capitol Building and the National Archives.
