Discover the hip city of Seattle and opt to explore the sights of San Francisco before embarking on a thrilling Alaska cruise - includes flights and a full-board cruise

San Francisco (optional)

Opt to spend a night in San Francisco, a West Coast gem as famous for its landmark buildings - the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Coit Tower to name a few - as it is for its status as the centre of the 1960s Flower Power movement. Spend your time snapping pictures of sea lions basking in the sun at Pier 39, chomping on clam chowder by the waterfront, checking out the pastel-hued houses of Postcard Row, and heading to the Mission District for the best Mexican food (and margaritas) in the city.

Seattle

Start your adventure in Seattle, a beautiful city in America’s evergreen Pacific Northwest. With its dreamlike location flanked by lakes, mountains and forests, this vibrant metropolis offers guests the best of both worlds. When you’re not sampling local delicacies at Pike Market or getting your culture fix at the city’s eclectic collection of museums, be sure to stop by the futuristic Space Needle to drink in the impressive cityscape from 605 feet above ground.

Alaska cruise

Day 1: Seattle - At Sea

Depart Seattle, spending your first night at sea. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: At Sea

Spend a day at sea. (Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 3: Juneau

Arrive in Juneau, Alaska’s spellbinding capital where a bustling centre opens up onto stunning landscapes speckled with majestic glaciers. Spend a relaxing morning stopping off at the city’s string of bakeries and cafes or hitch a ride on the iconic Mount Roberts Tramway. Later, you’ll enjoy an overnight cruise to the enchanting Endicott Arm & Dawes glacier. (Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 4: Skagway

The gateway to the gold fields, Skagway is a small town with a big personality. Having made a name for itself in the Gold Rush era of the late 1800s, thousands flocked to its shores in search of a piece of its treasure. Today, the city has less than 1,000 residents but it retains much of its age-old charm. Visit the soaring Klondike Summit, tour the Yukon Gold Rush camps or enjoy a scenic horseback ride along the rocky coastline. (Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 5: Glacier Bay National Park

Today you’ll glide through the shimmering waters of Glacier Bay, a show-stopping national park and worthy UNESCO World Heritage site boasting some of the world’s most spectacular tidewater glaciers. You’ll take in the majestic Margerie Glacier and more, as you glimpse some of the local wildlife, from humpback whales and sea otters to bald eagles and black bears. (Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 6: Ketchikan

Your next stop is the ancient city of Ketchikan. Known as the gateway to Southeast Alaska, this small community is set at the entrance to the famed Inside Passage. Home to the Totem Heritage Center, spend your time here learning about Native American Culture or take a stroll along historic Creek Street to join shoppers rubbing shoulders with salmon fishermen reeling in the day’s catch. (Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 7: Victoria, British Columbia

Occupying a prime spot on beautiful Vancouver Island, Victoria boasts a slew of inviting open spaces, making it the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air on your last day. Admire the city’s trademark Victorian architecture in between hopping from the leafy Butchart Gardens to Beacon Hill Park. (Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 8: Seattle - UK

Arrive back in Seattle early in the morning, before disembarking and returning to the airport for your flight home. (Meals: breakfast)
