A sensational private tour of breathtaking Sri Lanka, including Jeep safaris, plus an all-inclusive Maldives escape with seaplane transfers and a choice of villas

Positioned just off the southern coast of India, the teardrop-shaped island of Sri Lanka is a paradise of emerald green rainforest and sugary sands. This kaleidoscopic destination boasts some of the wildest, most exotic scenery in the Indian Ocean, with elephants, dolphins and leopards all residents of the island. Pack in the best bits on a chauffeur-guided tour and then, instead of flying home, jet to the Maldives for a spot of relaxation in the most beautiful region on earth.

Over seven nights, you’ll visit the coastal city of Negombo and the ancient capital of Anuradhapura with its time-frozen ruins. Stand in awe of staggering Sigiriya rock fortress and explore a typical village with a guide for an insight into local life. Have your senses stirred at the sublime Matale spice garden and travel to the cultural treasure trove of Kandy, taking in the glorious Royal Botanical Gardens and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. For wildlife enthusiasts, highlights include safaris in the extraordinary Udawalawe and Minneriya national parks, where you’ll venture out on Jeep safaris to observe the many wild elephants that roam the grasslands. You’ll even pay a visit to the beautiful Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe and support the protection of these soulful giants.

At the end of your tour, you’ll fly to Malé for a quick stopover before travelling onwards by seaplane to far-flung Medhufushi Island Resort. This remote paradise in Meemu Atoll is unmistakably Maldivian with its thatched villas, shock-white sands and turquoise lagoon, best enjoyed with snorkelling gear or with the guidance of a PADI dive instructor. With a heavenly spa, water’s-edge restaurant and incomparable setting, it’s hard to imagine a more idyllic place to wind down at the end of an epic adventure.

Over in the stunning over-water spa pavilion, Eastern and Western techniques are combined for incredible body wraps, facials, massages and more. Not only is the Medhufushi surrounded by clear waters, it’s fringed by powder-soft white sands, which you can step directly onto from the Beach villas. The villas features a lazy Maldivian swing, a four-poster bed, private veranda and luxury bathroom with a tropical outdoor rain shower, but for some, there's only one way to stay in the Maldives; and that's in a Water villa with steps leading to the lagoon.
