Llyn Peninsula

A Grade II-listed Georgian gem with an acclaimed restaurant, on the wild Llŷn Peninsula, with breakfast and dinner options

With huge swathes of sandy beach stretching as far as the eye can see, vast canopied skies and a magical light that has inspired many an artist, it’s easy to see why North Wales’ Llŷn Peninsula is a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nestled near all this natural splendour, Plas Bodegroes is a Welsh treasure all of its own, set among five acres of secluded private gardens. Behind its pearl-coloured Georgian facade, this lovely manor house is home to a much-lauded restaurant, as well as a number of boutique-style guest rooms.

In autumn, the hotel’s acer gardens are a truly magical sight, when the trees are transformed into an explosion of colour. Stroll down the beech avenue, leaves crunching underfoot, pass through a yew tree gate, and you’ll find a babbling brook. Around a mile away you can join the Wales Coast Path, which winds its way along the shore and over spectacular sea cliffs. Venture a little further and you’ll encounter the rugged beauty of Snowdonia.
