A peaceful boutique stay in a historic manor house in Devon with an award-winning restaurant, including full English breakfast and three-course dinner

A slice of Georgian history nestled in the quintessential quaint English village, the independent, family-run Orestone Manor peeks out onto Lyme Bay through lush greenery on Devon’s prized coastline. The location for a peaceful countryside escape couldn’t get any better. With beautifully landscaped gardens and a double AA Rosette-awarded restaurant to top it off, it's no wonder this country bolthole is repeatedly the subject of rave reviews.

The select number of rooms have an eclectic mix of styles, each as elegant as the next. Some feature antique wooden furniture and pretty English patterned wallpaper while others have a distinct and thoughtful theme running through them. Most look onto calming sea and countryside views.

You can feast on carefully-presented dishes in the Conservatory or main restaurant – but first, don't forget to tuck into a typical afternoon tea by the fire after a robust country walk. The hotel scored a well-earned TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The country manor house is tucked away in the English Riviera, which boasts the country’s highest amount of Blue Flag beaches to stroll or snooze on. The area is also a UNESCO-recognised Global Geopark, ensuring its beauty will remain unspoilt. There are also a number of wildlife sanctuaries and farms to visit a short drive away.
