Discover the spiritual core of one of the world’s most charismatic countries, Nepal. Encompassing three mesmerising destinations, you'll travel between a vibrant city stay in the heart of Kathmandu, a wildlife-spotting experience in the depths of Chitwan National Park and watch the sun rise above the world's highest peaks in the magnificent Himalayas.

From your base at Ghangri Boutique Hotel in Nepal's buzzing capital Kathmandu, you'll have some free time to explore the city upon arrival. You'll take a tour of temple-filled Bhaktapur, discovering The Royal Palace and its impressive entrance door embossed with beautiful art. You'll also explore the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley - the Changu Narayan temple - located on a hilltop and surrounded by forest, and visit ancient destinations dotted through the Kathmandu Valley over the next few days, including the old city of Patan and the hilltop Swayambhunath Stupa.

Heading onwards to Chitwan National Park, take an excursion through one of the richest parks in Asia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Discover prehistoric trees, twisting vines and a host of local wildlife including rhinos, elephants, crocodiles and pythons.

Next up, you'll take in beautiful Himalayan views at your accommodation in Pokhara, situated just a five-minute walk from Phewa Lake - the largest lake in Pokhara. You'll get the chance to take a boat ride across the lake and see the beautiful Devi Waterfall and the Sacred Cave of Gupteshwor before heading back to Kathmandu for two nights, squeezing in visits to Boudhanath - one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal - and Pashupatinath Temple.

You'll spend your last two nights in Nagarkot, a village nestled in the mountains that's famous for its stunning views over the Himalayas. While here, you'll take guided walks in the hills surrounding Nagarkot, taking in the terraced farmland and garnering an insight into the lifestyles of the local people. After two nights soaking up these stunning surrounds, you'll board an overnight flight back to the UK.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive at your UK departure airport and check in for your overnight flight to Kathmandu.

Day 2: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel for three nights. Spend the day discovering the city at your leisure.

Day 3: Take a tour of Bhaktapur city and admire the great architectural beauty of the third of the three royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 4: Head to the Kathmandu Valley through Asan Tole, the main street of the capital's oldest shopping area. Discover the rich Nepalese culture and everyday life through the bustling and narrow streets and courtyards. Visit Durbar Square in Kathmandu, where you can see the Kumari Temple, which houses the Living Goddess and the exteriors of the Taleju Temple and Kala Bhairava. In the afternoon, explore Swayambhunath Stupa, located at the top of a hill. Later, discover the old city of Patan and visit Durbar Square. See the Royal Palace, home to sanctuaries dedicated to Shiva, Ganesh and Vishnu. Also visit the Temple of the Living Goddess Kumari before returning to your hotel. Today, you'll also have the option of a Mount Everest flight-seeing excursions (£190 per person).

Day 5: Transfer by road to Chitwan and upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in for two nights. In the afternoon, visit the village of Tharu, to learn about the life, culture and traditions of local people, such as the Tharu Stick dance.

Day 6: Head on an excursion to the Chitwan National Park, one of the richest parks in Asia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Discover prehistoric trees, vines, rhinos, elephants, crocodiles, pythons and deer. Enjoy bird-watching and look out for the magnificent Bengal tigers before returning to your hotel.

Day 7: Transfer by road to Pokhara. On the way, visit Bandipur village, a hilltop settlement in the Tanahu district that constitutes a living museum of Newar culture and hosts many examples of 18th-century architecture, plus small cafes and shops. Arrive in Pokhara, and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay.

Day 8: Set off for Sarangkot to see the sunrise over the Himalayas, if weather conditions permit. Afterwards, take a boat ride on Phewa Lake to see the beautiful Devi Waterfall and explore the Sacred Cave of Gupteshwor. Continue to the traditional Old Bazaar of Pokhara, full of merchants selling fabrics, food and gold among many other products. Return to your hotel.

Day 9: Head back to Kathmandu and upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in for two nights. Enjoy the rest of the day to enjoy the city at your leisure.

Day 10: Take a guided tour of Boudhanath and Pashupatinath. Discover Pashupatinath Hindu Temple from the east bank of the river and spend an afternoon at leisure in the city.

Day 11: Set off for Nagarkot, famed for its amazing views over the Himalayas, where you'll spend the night.

Day 12: Take guided walks through the hills surrounding Nagarkot.

Day 13: Transfer to the airport to catch your overnight flight home.

Day 14: Arrive back in the UK.
