Be dazzled by the boy pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb treasures for one last time, before they remain in Egypt for good - includes exhibition entry and a London hotel stay

  • Enveloped in a mysterious, majestic aura, Tutankhamun - the most iconic of Egypt's pharaohs - became a king at nine years old and died a decade later. From 2 November 2019 until 3 May 2020, London's Saatchi Gallery will show astonishing treasures from his tomb, including 150 original items and 60 that have never left Egypt before.

  • Since Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, the ensuing 'Tutmania' gripped London when the treasures found there drew millions to the British Museum in 1972 and The O2 in 2007. Cast your eyes over the gleaming artefacts before they remain in Giza's new Grand Egyptian Museum for good.

  • Nine immersive galleries feature digital content, contextual material, and clever audio and custom soundscapes. London is the third city on the 10-stop world tour, and you can conveniently combine a discovery of this phenomenonal pharaoh's life at Chelsea's contemporary Saatchi Gallery with a hotel stay in the dynamic British capital.

How to get there

Highlights

Basking in a superlative London postcode, the Saatchi Gallery sits just around the corner from Sloane Square tube station and among the area's upscale shops, restaurants and art galleries. For shopping, head to the Grade II listed building holding the long-standing Peter Jones department store on Sloane Square itself, before perusing boutiques on the iconic King's Road.

For a shot of high-end contemporary culture, catch a play at the Royal Court Theatre on Sloane Square or walk one more block to hear the resident Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall.

Can't commit to booking right now?

Hold a date for only £25 while you decide.

  • Pay £25 to hold a date until the end of the sale.
  • If you choose to buy it, the money will go towards your purchase, if not, the cash will be credited to your Secret Escapes account.

Important: Please note, this is not a deposit, complete or guaranteed booking; holding the date simply prevents other members from swooping in and booking your preferred date while you're still having a think about it.
