Day 1 - Luxor

After your flight, you’ll arrive in Luxor, a city of ancient treasures. Board the Dahabiya Dream and spend your evening at leisure. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2 - Luxor - Esna

You’ll start the day on the west bank of Luxor, an archaeological paradise teeming with ancient artefacts, steadfast ruins and richly decorated tombs from millennia gone by. Visit these in the morning before setting sail to Esna, which is the home of the Temple of Khnum, a tomb that until recently, has been buried under centuries of sand and debris. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 3 - Edfu - Kom Ombo

Set sail to Edfu, a town on the west bank 53 kilometres south of Esna. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Horus, the most well-preserved Egyptian temple. Hieroglyphics still adorn the walls, and you’ll take a tour around the large, imposing chambers and be transported to the time of the Pharoahs. You'll spend the evening on the Nile watching a glorious sunset. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4 - Kom Ombo - Aswan

The first stop of the day is Kom Ombo Temple, with a history stemming back two thousand years. One half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, and the other half to the falcon god Haroeris. You'll visit the High Dam as you make your way to Aswan, before taking a motorboat to visit temples over on Philae Island. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 5: Aswan - Esna

Visit Abu Simbel Temple (optional and upon availability; for more details please contact the supplier), where you can see two rock temples of Ramesses II, Hathor and Nefertari rising out of the earth. Enjoy lunch on board while sailing back towards Esna. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6: Esna - Luxor

Continue sailing to Esna, taking in the vast sights of protruding pyramids and ancient temples from on board the Dahabiya. Arrive in Luxor to visit Karnak and Luxor Temple complex, where you’ll find the vast ruins of decaying temples and crumbling chapels from almost four thousand years ago. In the evening, there'll be an optional tour to see the sound and light show at Karnak Temple. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 7: Luxor

In the early morning, you can opt to take an incredible balloon ride over the West Bank of Luxor (optional and upon availability; for more details please contact the supplier). Dahabiya Dream (seven nights)

A true labour of love, hand-built by local craftsmen over an 18-month period, using centuries-old traditional working methods, the Dahabiya Dream is a 1920s-style Nile sailing boat. The amazing attention to detail includes handmade furniture and even hand-sewn sails. A true sailboat from top to bottom, the Dahabiya Dream isn't powered by engines, which means that there's no vibration or noise to disturb you as you float peacefully down the Nile.

Its six luxury cabins are all themed after great historic explorers, including Howard Carter and Amelia Edwards. Stay in a Luxury cabin, or opt for the Royal suite, with its very own private balcony. You'll enjoy a full-board basis throughout your stay, with all meals prepared by a chef using the very best produce (dietary requirements can be catered for). Best of all, some of the profits from your stay will be ploughed back into worthwhile local community projects.
