Day 1 - Luxor
After your flight, you’ll arrive in Luxor, a city of ancient treasures. Board the Dahabiya Dream and spend your evening at leisure. (Meals: dinner)
Day 2 - Luxor - Esna
You’ll start the day on the west bank of Luxor, an archaeological paradise teeming with ancient artefacts, steadfast ruins and richly decorated tombs from millennia gone by. Visit these in the morning before setting sail to Esna, which is the home of the Temple of Khnum, a tomb that until recently, has been buried under centuries of sand and debris. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 3 - Edfu - Kom Ombo
Set sail to Edfu, a town on the west bank 53 kilometres south of Esna. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Horus, the most well-preserved Egyptian temple. Hieroglyphics still adorn the walls, and you’ll take a tour around the large, imposing chambers and be transported to the time of the Pharoahs. You'll spend the evening on the Nile watching a glorious sunset. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 4 - Kom Ombo - Aswan
The first stop of the day is Kom Ombo Temple, with a history stemming back two thousand years. One half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, and the other half to the falcon god Haroeris. You'll visit the High Dam as you make your way to Aswan, before taking a motorboat to visit temples over on Philae Island. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 5: Aswan - Esna
Visit Abu Simbel Temple (optional and upon availability; for more details please contact the supplier), where you can see two rock temples of Ramesses II, Hathor and Nefertari rising out of the earth. Enjoy lunch on board while sailing back towards Esna. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 6: Esna - Luxor
Continue sailing to Esna, taking in the vast sights of protruding pyramids and ancient temples from on board the Dahabiya. Arrive in Luxor to visit Karnak and Luxor Temple complex, where you’ll find the vast ruins of decaying temples and crumbling chapels from almost four thousand years ago. In the evening, there'll be an optional tour to see the sound and light show at Karnak Temple. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 7: Luxor
In the early morning, you can opt to take an incredible balloon ride over the West Bank of Luxor (optional and upon availability; for more details please contact the supplier). Later, visit the West Bank itself, including a trip to the house of Howard Carter and the replica of Tutankhamun's tomb. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 8: Luxor
Head to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)

Please note that the entry visa to Egypt is $25 (or sterling equivalent) and payable on arrival at Luxor airport. Please also note that onboard gratuities are not included.
Following client feedback regarding the treatment and care of the working horses in Edfu, the supplier have decided to take action in support of better animal welfare, and as a result have decided to remove the Edfu temple visit from the itinerary until their demands for better animal care are met.

What is a deposit?
In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).
We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
