Traverse Morocco on a magical tour through cities, deserts and the Atlas Mountains - with three city tours, breakfast, some dinners, all travel and more

Day 1: Marrakech

Your adventure starts in Marrakech, the cultural capital of Africa, which is full to the brim with bazaars and historic architecture just waiting to be appreciated. Once you’ve checked in to your hotel, start discovering the medinas, mosques, and medieval architecture of this dazzling city on your own. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: Marrakech

Embark on a city tour of Marrakech with your guide, taking in the minaret at Koutoubia Mosque and the Palace of Bahia by day, and the magical twinkling lights of Jemaa el Fna by night. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Marrkech - Casablanca - Rabat - Fez

Leave Marrakech after breakfast and head towards Casablanca. Enjoy a city tour, visiting the Mohammed V Square, then drive to Rabat to see the Udayas Kasbah, which dates back to the 12th century, and wander its blue and white façades and narrow alleys that lead the way to art museums, cafés and stunning views of the Atlantic ocean. Continue to Meknes to see the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, then head to Fez. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Fez

Enjoy a full day in Fez. See the city from above from one of the surrounding hills, then visit the Royal Palace, Medersas, the centre of Koranic studies, and walk along the Boulevard of Mohammed V. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Fez - Midelt - Erfoud

After breakfast, depart for the mountains. En route, visit the city of Midelt, known for its apple cultivation, then arrive in Erfoud. Opt to spend the night in the Dunes of Erg Chebbi, including a 4x4 tour through the desert, a camel ride, and dinner under the stars (three choices of accommodation ranging from £105-£161 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Erfoud - Gorges of Todgha - Dades Valley - Kalaat M’Gouna - Ouarzazate

Today, visit the incredible landscapes of the Gorges of Todgha and the Dades Valley, passing by fortresses before visiting the Berber town of Kalaat M’Gouna. Continue to the desert city of Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay. (Breakfast, dinner)

Day 7: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

Embark on a tour to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former residence of the Lord of the Atlas Region, then head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a filming location of The Mummy, Gladiator and A Game of Thrones. Drive back through the Atlas Mountains en route to Marrakech. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 8: Marrakech

In the morning, set off for the Atlas Mountains to experience local Berber culture. Stop in Asni to visit a weekly market before heading up to Imlil. Meet a local guide and embark on a four-kilometre trek through the stunning landscapes to the village of Aremd, set in the beautiful valley of Aït Mizane Assif. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 9: Marrakech - UK

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)
