Traverse Morocco on a magical tour through cities, deserts and the Atlas Mountains - with three city tours, breakfast, some dinners, all travel and more

Morocco is a fascinating country, with medinas, mosques, medieval architecture, mountains and so much more to keep you occupied. On this seven-night tour, experience the best of this diverse landscape and its exciting sights with visits to some of the country’s most prominent cities, as well as an exploration of the gorges and valleys of the Atlas Mountains, and a visit to UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Benhaddou.

Your adventure starts in Marrakech, the cultural capital of Africa, which is full to the brim with bazaars and historic architecture just waiting to be appreciated. Start discovering the city on your own, then embark on a guided tour, taking in the Palace of Bahia by day, and the magical twinkling lights of Jemaa el Fna by night.

Next, journey onwards to Casablanca, the movie-famous port city with a past of French colonialism that feeds into its architecture and atmosphere. Marvel at the Art Deco buildings and visit the iconic Mohammed V Square before moving on to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Visit the Udayas Kasbah, which dates back to the 12th century, and wander its blue and white facades and narrow alleys that lead the way to art museums, cafes and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Head to Meknes to admire the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, one of the only mosques in the country that can be accessed by non-Muslims. Fez, primarily known for its walled medina and vibrant souks, is up next on the list, and you’ll spend a full day here getting to grips with what is known as Morocco’s intellectual and religious capital.

Then, it’s time to leave the city behind and head into the mountains of the Middle Atlas, right to the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, you can opt to spend a night in the high dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you’ll explore the desert by 4x4 and camel ride before dining and spending a night under the stars. More incredible landscapes await in the Gorges of Todgha and the Dades Valley, then you’ll spend the night in the desert city of Ouarzazate.

Your next excursion will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, an incredible Kasbah which has been used as a filming location for movies and TV shows like The Mummy, Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Journey back through the mountains to Marrakech then, the next day, take a scenic trek with a local guide into the Atlas Mountains, before spending a final night in Marrakech.
