A luxe hotel inspired by a legendary restaurant and set within a Miami icon, with daily breakfast and a resort credit

Nobu has been one of the biggest names in luxury dining for more than 20 years. Co-founded by Robert de Niro and sushi master Nobu Matsuhisa, the Japanese-fusion destination first drew glittering guests after opening in New York’s Greenwich Hotel, then proved its staying power – and international appeal – when A-listers flocked to locations in Moscow, Milan, Mexico City and more. Now, the iconic label has made the leap into Miami Beach hospitality, and Nobu Hotel Miami Beach, reviewed by Condé Nast Traveler and Robb Report, is as dazzling and drool-worthy as the restaurant that inspired it.

The newcomer resides within Eden Roc Miami Beach, so you’ll get access to all of the high-end amenities that made the latter property a Magic City legend: three pools, yacht dockage and a 22,000-square-foot spa. But the founders have also curated a unique, part-Japanese, part-European experience for Nobu Hotel guests – kind of like omakase for the soul. Expect an oshibori towel along with your welcome drink; an exclusive fourth pool; 300-thread-count Fili d’Oro linens in your room; and 24-hour sashimi and tempura from Miami Beach’s own Nobu, the world’s largest, which is just down the stairs. It’s the best of a legendary eatery and a legendary resort, all rolled into one.

Good to know

Please note that a resort fee of $28 (plus tax) per room, per night is payable directly to the hotel. The resort fee includes two daily bottled waters, Wi-Fi, domestic toll-free calls, 24-hour fitness centre access and the use of two beach chairs per day.

Nobu Hotel gets 206 guestrooms and suites to itself, within the larger Eden Roc. Along with luxe details, like a branded minibar, the offerings in each sleek, Japanese-influenced abode include a 24-hour Nobu room-service menu and 300-thread-count Fili d’Oro linens. Bathrooms are equally high-end, featuring waterfall showers with teak benches and adjustable mirror lighting. Deluxe rooms range from 380 to 420 square feet, offering your choice of one king-sized bed or two queens.

Start your morning at the hotel's Nobu outpost, where breakfast is served (and brunch on Sundays), along with lunches and dinners of the famous sushi. For a fun al-fresco option, Splash by Malibu Farm offers a satisfying menu of salads, burgers and seafood dishes, while Malibu Farm itself serves California-fresh farm-to-table fare. By the Ocean Garden Pool, Aquatica Bar is the place for al-fresco cocktails, juices and locally sourced light bites. You can also sip drinks and nosh on small bites at the glamorous Lobby Bar. When thirsty, stop by the Starbucks outpost. In-room dining can be enjoyed at all hours of the day.

The capacious rooftop deck with VIP cabanas decidedly makes Elle Spa a cut above the rest. Pamper yourself with all manner of wraps, scrubs and rituals here before a glam night out in Miami Beach. Facilities include a sauna, steam room, hot whirlpools and cold plunges, hydro-experience showers, a 24-hour fitness center and more.

Sitting slap-bang on Miami Beach, right on iconic Collins Avenue, where the crème de la crème of Miami society hangs out, the hotel puts you a beachfront walk or taxi ride from a number of exciting sights. Fritter away some cash shopping, eating and partying at the open-air Lincoln Road Mall, or brush up on your vintage-architecture and modern-art savvy, with a trip to the South Beach Art Deco District and Miami Design District.

There are restaurants and bars galore in the neighborhood; cycling, surfing, scuba diving and shuttling to a local golf course can all be arranged at the hotel. For further fun, head to the marina for yacht charters or to one of its pools, offering a variety of views.
