Day 1: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Beijing

Explore the city at your leisure. Embark on an optional Temple of Heaven tour (£51 per person) or Hutong neighbourhood excursion (£76 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Beijing

Take an excursion to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. Visit a traditional Chinese medicine centre and see the famous Summer Palace. In the evening, join an optional dinner and Red Theater Kung Fu Show (£51 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Beijing

Visit a jade workshop on the way to the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall of China. Spend several hours walking the hallowed walls of this world-wonder, then enjoy lunch before seeing Beijing Olympic Park. Enjoy a Beijing roast duck dinner at the hotel. In the evening, there's an optional Golden Mask show (£51 per person). (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 5: Beijing - Xi'an

Transfer from Beijing to Xi’an by bullet train. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Head to the South Gate Old City Wall and go shopping in the city's Muslim Quarter. This evening, opt for a Tang Dynasty show and dinner (£51 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Xi'an

Visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum, the local terracotta factory and the Yanyuan Art Museum, where you'll learn more about Chinese calligraphy. Feast at a dumpling banquet in the evening. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 7: Xi'an

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Xi'an further. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Xi'an - Guilin

Fly to Guilin in southern China. Visit a local pearl factory and Elephant Trunk Hill. Check into your hotel and stay overnight. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Guilin

Enjoy a day at leisure in Guilin. Optional dinner and Four Lakes night cruise with cormorant fishing show (£51 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Guilin - Yangshuo

Head to the Yangshuo region to enjoy a boat cruise on the Li River. Afterwards, witness the natural wonders of Moon Hill and the Big Banyan Tree before walking along West Street. Return to the hotel. Optional dinner and Liusanjie Impression Light Show (£51 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Yangshuo - Shanghai

Fly to Shanghai and check into your hotel. Take a walking tour of Nanjing Road and the Bund neighbourhood. Return to the hotel. Optional Huangpu River cruise with dinner (£61 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Shanghai

Full-day tour of Shanghai, visiting Yu Garden, Shanghai Museum and an authentic silk factory. Return to the hotel. Optional dinner and acrobatic show (£56 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Shanghai

Day at leisure in Shanghai. Optional excursion to the water town of Zhujiajiao (£117 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 14: Shanghai

Day at leisure in Shanghai. Optional Zhujiajiao excursion to the beautiful water town with a boat cruise (£117 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 15: Shanghai

Transfer to the airport to catch your flight home. (Meals: breakfast)

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
