Stunning panoramic sea views from a clifftop hotel on the Isle of Wight, with breakfast, a three-course dinner and car ferry crossings

Originally built in 1870 as the summer home for the Bishop of Portsmouth, Luccombe Hall Hotel remains a jewel in the Isle of Wight's crown and boasts one of loveliest hotel locations this captivating island has to offer, plus a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. Thanks to its majestic placement, on top of the cliffs of Shanklin, you're continually spoilt with panoramic sea views from most areas of the hotel.

Half of the Isle of Wight's land mass has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so set off and explore the 500 miles of walking routes and 60 miles of beaches by car, foot or bicycle. You're a stone's throw from Shanklin Old Village, with its thatched houses and cosy pubs. Opened in 1817, the Isle of Wight's oldest tourist attraction, Shanklin Chine, awaits you nearby, so be sure to set some time aside to immerse yourself in the fairy-tale magic and natural beauty of this leafy gorge.

You can access the beach directly from the hotel via a scenic cliff walk and steps or, for some relaxation and leisure in the comfort of Luccombe Hall itself, there's an indoor heated pool and hot tub, plus table tennis for the more active weekender. Why not while away an hour or two on the hotel's mini putting green or rest up in the tea garden overlooking the sea.
