Day 1: UK - Kuala Lumpur

Set off for Malaysia and futuristic Kuala Lumpur. Spend a night on board.

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur

Touch down in KL, Malaysia's largest city. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy time to start exploring the bright lights of this big city.

Day 3: Kuala Lumpur

Head out on a half-day city tour, where you’ll take in the sky-scraping Petronas Towers, the Royal Palace, Lake Gardens, National Mosque, Independence Square and more. End the morning with a visit to the Craft Centre, before the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Kuala Lumpur

See a different side to Kuala Lumpur today in the rural villages and temples which surround the city. Learn about traditional crafts at Batik factory, then visit the fascinating Batu Cave temple before spending the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Kuala Lumpur - Kuching

Today you’ll hop on another flight to Kuching, the gateway to the jungles of Borneo. Spend the rest of your day after arrival relaxing and wandering the charming narrow streets. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Kuching

After breakfast, it’s time for a city tour of Kuching, discovering historical buildings aplenty in this historic town. You’ll visit the Tua Pek Kong Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching, the charms of colourful India Street and the thrumming life in Malay villages. Taste delicious local foods, including Sarawak Laksa, a favourite of the late, great Anthony Bourdain. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Kuching - Semenggoh Orangutan Centre - Kuching

Get ready for an incredible day visiting orangutans at a rehabilitation centre. Walk the trails and spot these beautiful creatures, watch them eat and play, before heading back to Kuching, stopping at a pottery workshop en route. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Kuching

Today you’ll have the opportunity to explore Kuching on your own - why not visit a museum, or trawl local food markets for incredible delicacies. You can also opt to visit the Bako National Park, home to monkeys, macaques and mangroves which come together to show how incredible Borneo’s nature could be (£80 per person).

Day 9: Kuching - Sarawak Cultural Village - Damai Beach

Leave Kuching behind, making your way towards Damai Beach. On the way, you’ll stop at the Sarawak Cultural Village in the foothills of Mount Santubong. Seven major cultures come together here, and you’ll learn a lot about local life. Your next overnight stop, Damai Beach, comes close to paradise with white-sand beaches and a rainforest backdrop.

Days 10 - 12: Damai Beach

Spend three days at leisure in this idyllic spot, flitting leisurely between the pool and beach, indulging in massages and icy-cool cocktails. On your first day, you can opt to visit Satang Island on a boat trip, where incredible marine life awaits. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Damai Beach - Kuching - Kuala Lumpur

Wave goodbye to the beach and transfer back to Kuching for your flight to Kuala Lumpur. You’ll stay here one more night before heading home, so make the most of your final afternoon. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 14: Kuala Lumpur - Night on board

Return to the airport for your flight back to the UK. You’ll either spend a night on board or arrive back in the UK in the evening, depending on your flight time. (Meals: breakfast)
