Day 1: Delhi, India

Arrive in Delhi and spend the day at leisure in this colourful, sprawling metropolis.

Day 2: Delhi

Head out on a tour of Old and New Delhi, taking in the Red Fort, the Lotus Temple, India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb, Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India - and Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world.

Day 3: Jaipur, India

Transfer to Jaipur, where you’ll embark on a sightseeing tour of the expansive and majestic City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory and the Albert Hall Museum.

Day 4: Jaipur

Visit Hawa Mahal, ‘Palace of the Winds’, and the imposing Amer Fort, stopping en route to marvel at Jal Mahal, an ornate palace set in the middle of a lake.

Day 5: Agra, India

Transfer to Agra, making a stop at historical Abhaneri village - famed for its beautiful steps.

Day 6: Delhi

Today you’ll head to the incomparable Taj Mahal in time for sunrise. In the afternoon, spend time at the fascinating Agra Fort, and continue onwards to Delhi.

Day 7: Negombo, Sri Lanka

Leave India for Sri Lanka and transfer to your hotel in Negombo. Spend your first night at leisure.

Day 8: Negombo - Dambulla

On the first day of your private tour, you’ll travel to Sigiriya - one of the most recognisable sights in Sri Lanka. Here, you’ll enjoy a village safari including a bullock cart ride, a catamaran ride on the lake, a cookery demonstration and lunch with a local family beside a paddy field, and a tuk-tuk ride.

Day 9: Dambulla

After fuelling up on breakfast, you’ll climb Pidurangala Rock for 360-degree views of the spectacular valleys and Sigiriya Rock. The rock houses a Buddhist temple which is thought to date back more than 2,000 years. In the afternoon, head out on a safari in Minneriya National Park, where it’s possible to see herds of up to 150 elephants feeding and washing.

Day 10: Dambulla - Kandy

Transfer to Kandy, stopping to visit the ancient Dambulla Cave Temple en route, as well as a spice garden and batik factory. Surrounded by hills, enchanting Kandy is one of Sri Lanka’s cultural hotspots, and while you’re here, you’ll enjoy a visit to the incredible Sacred Tooth Relic and a traditional evening show.

Day 11: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Kandy

Make your way to the famous Hill Country town of Nuwara Eliya via one of the most picturesque routes in the country. Soak up panoramic views along the way, then call in at a tea plantation and factory. This region is famous all over the world for its tea production, and you’ll get to see the whole process of how Ceylon Tea is made before sampling a cup or two. You’ll have the option to travel to Nuwara Eliya by scenic train, for an additional charge.

Day 12: Kandy - Beruwala

Transfer to Beruwala where you’ll spend the day at leisure.

Day 13: Beruwala

Today, you can either unwind by the ocean or take an optional tour to a turtle hatchery and the fort city of Galle (for an additional fee).

Day 14: Beruwala

On your final day, you’ll transfer back to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
