Magical five-night Arctic adventure to Northern Norway with wildlife excursions, two nights in the Lofoten Islands, a Northern Lights quest and flights
Experience the wonder of the Arctic with this action-packed adventure to northern Norway, exploring ethereal landscapes, getting up close to local wildlife and with the chance to marvel at the magical Northern Lights.
Begin in Tromsø, 350 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, which boasts a vibrant culture, top-notch seafood restaurants and buzzing nightlife. You’ll stay at Quality Hotel Saga for one night before discovering the pristine, snow-covered landscapes out of town. En route to your next spot, you'll visit Polar Park, the world’s northernmost zoo, home to lynx, wolves, elk, reindeer, musk ox and Arctic fox.
You'll continue to the famous port of Narvik, known for playing an important part in World War II, where you’ll stay overnight at Scandic Narvik. Next, you'll drive on to Sortland for a fascinating visit to a reindeer farm, getting up close to these endearing animals and meeting a Sami herder.
Next, you'll drive through majestic Arctic landscapes to the harbour town of Svolvær, where you’ll stay overnight at Thon Hotel Lofoten. This evening you’ll head out of town into the wilds on a Northern Lights quest with an expert guide, with a good chance of spying this bucket-list phenomenon far away from light pollution.
The next day you’ll explore the beautiful Lofoten Islands, dominated by snowy peaks that plunge straight into the sea and fjords. Separated from the mainland by the Vestfjord, the islands form a 150-kilometre chain and you can island hop by ferry or cross via bridges. During your adventure here you can spend time exploring this unique wilderness, where you'll find rugged beaches, hundreds of sea birds and vast, starry night skies. Next, you'll head back to Tromsø; you'll spend the day here exploring in your own time; take in Tromsø’s charming old wooden houses and striking cathedral, all before spending your last night at your hotel.
