Escape to enthralling Iceland's epic landscapes in summer or winter - with Northern Lights in winter, optional Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and whale watching plus buffet breakfast and flights

  • Iceland is an incredible place to visit no matter the season, thanks to its overwhelmingly otherwordly geothermic goods which tumble, cascade and burst across the landscapes. The capital, Reykjavik, is as charming as its country, and you'll be staying at Hotel Reykjavik Centrum, which stands proud on the city's oldest street, Aðalstræti. History bursts from the seams of this colourful base, whose building unearthed a historic Viking longhouse from the Settlement period. Inside you'll find a restaurant for fueling up in the evenings after days out exploring the wilderness.

  • Winter on this epic island can be nothing short of magical, thanks in no small part to the ethereal auroras known as the Northern Lights. If you're heading to Iceland in winter, embark on a cruise to (we hope) spot this beautiful sight while floating along the water, and opt to add Blue Lagoon transfers (admission not included) for some serious winter warming in Iceland's most famous thermal waters. You'll also have whale watching and Golden Circle options in winter, to tick even more off the bucket list.

  • In summer, whale-watching comes top of the list. Spend a few hours floating across the bay, keeping your eyes trained on the water in the hopes of spotting minke whales, harbour porpoises and even, if you're really lucky, a humpback whale or two. Alongside this, you can choose to delve into the wonders of the Golden Circle, packed with exploding geysers, cascading falls and everything in between. Home to Thingvellir National Park, this unforgettable stretch of the island is one not to be missed.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are of course a naturally occurring phenomenon, so while we hope you’ll see them (and we'll cross our fingers for you), we cannot guarantee they will oblige.

Please note that the Northern Lights can be observed up until the end of April, and then again from mid August - contrary to popular belief, the end of August is actually a great time to spot them. The official dates for the midnight sun are 16 to 29 June, but you can experience "no darkness" from May to early August.
