As well as checking out these hugely important historic sites, be sure to also check out the magnificent Sistine Chapel during your stay too — here you can see Michelangelo's spectacular Last Judgment, which took him 4 years to complete! Naturally it goes without saying that any trip to Rome is every bit as much of a culinary adventure as it is a step back in time. You can look forward to sipping on a fresh coffee accompanied by a cream-filled Roman Maritozzo in the morning and rounding off your day with a hearty plate of Bucatini alla Matriciana — both of which are native to the city. Walk in the footsteps of Roman emperors on a tour through the highlights of Ancient Rome. Before setting off, learn about the sites you’ll visit through an immersive multimedia video with ‘before and after’ images of these impressive sites. After that, you’ll start with skip-the-line tickets to the Roman Forum, where you’ll get to walk along the Via Sacra towards the place where Julius Caesar was cremated. Listen as your guide relates the city’s founding legends on Palatine Hill, before finishing with a tour of the Colosseum, learning about the legendary amphitheatre’s dramatic and bloody past.
Please note that this group tour lasts approximately three hours, and is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or guests with impaired mobility.
