A seven-night tour of Israel, taking in Tel Aviv, Galilee and Jerusalem with tours, flights and transfers included

Discover the enchanting ambience of Israel - a captivating country with thousands of stories to tell. Regarded as the biblical Holy Land for Jews, Christians and Muslims alike, Israel is packed with historical wonders and legendary sites. With this seven-night tour, you'll take in some of its most sacred places; from ancient tombs and momentous memorials, to stunning seas and majestic mountains.

You'll start in Tel Aviv, where you'll take an excursion to Haifa that takes in the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Baha'i Shrine and Gardens, and you'll explore Acre's famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Ascend Mount Carmel to gaze over the city itself before spending the night in Tiberias, by the Sea of Galilee.

From here, you'll ascend Golan Heights, visit a former Syrian fortification, enjoy a wine tasting session at a local vineyard, and discover the disciple Peter's house in Capernaum. You'll also visit Nazareth, where you'll explore the Church of Annunciation and Joseph's legendary carpentry workshop, and pass through Jordan Valley and Jericho, enjoying the beautiful preserved excavations of the old Roman city of Beit Shean en route.

You'll wind up in Jerusalem - a city so beguiling that its had both poem and anthem written about it. Here, you'll be based in the city centre, just a short distance from many of Israel's most iconic sacred sites, including the Old City and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which is considered the resting place for Jesus' tomb. Whilst here, you'll take in Mount Zion, the Room of the Last Supper and lay eyes on the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Tel Aviv, where you'll transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Visit the old town of Jaffa for a short tour. Then, visit Caesarea to see the ancient port, Roman Theatre and Hippodrome. Continue to Haifa to enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour, which includes the stunning Baha'i Shrine and Gardens, Mount Carmel and Haifa Bay. Depart westwards for Acre and take a visit to the Crusader stronghold. Check in to your Galilee hotel and spend the night.
Day 3: In the morning, drive to Golan Heights, which overlooks the Jordan River valley. Visit a former Syrian fortification before enjoying a wine tasting session at a local vineyard. Continue your tour of the region at the Mount of Beatitudes, visiting the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the disciple Peter's house in Capernaum. Visit other biblical sites and take a short tour of Tiberias.
Day 4: Head to Safed, to discover the mystic alleyways, a local synagogue and an artists' colony. Then, proceed to Nazareth, where you'll explore the Church of Annunciation and Joseph's legendary carpentry workshop. Pass through Jordan Valley to arrive in Beit Shean. Here, enjoy a fascinating visit to the beautiful preserved excavations of the old Roman city. Head north, passing Jericho, to arrive in Jerusalem, where you'll check in to your hotel and spend the night.
Day 5: Start the day with a panoramic view over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of the Agony. Visit many of the city's most emblematic sights, including the Israel Museum (home to the Dead Sea scrolls) and the Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem. You'll also visit Yad Vashem and the picturesque village of Ein Karem - the traditional birthplace of John the Baptist. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 6: Discover Jerusalem's immortal Old City with a tour that takes in the Western Wall and the area around Temple Mount. Walk along the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross, ending in the sacred Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Afterwards, head to Mount Zion to visit the Tomb of David, the Room of the Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey. In the afternoon, continue to Bethlehem, where you can explore the Church of Nativity and enjoy views over the Sherpherd's Fields. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 7: At leisure in Jerusalem or take an optional excursion to the Dead Sea (£112 per person).
Day 8: Transfer to the airport to catch your flight home.
