Escape to a Venetian villa in the country, close to Venice and Padua - includes breakfast, a welcome glass of prosecco, and more
  • Historic Venetian elegance: Born on the banks of the Marzengo river in the 16th century, Hotel Villa Barbarich is a glorious Italian villa with elegant interiors and a rich history: it was the former summer residence of the Malipiero family, and you’ll immediately feel the grandeur as you step into the marble hall, furnished with antique tables and decorated with enchanting frescoes by Ludovico Toeput.

  • Tempting Italian cuisine: The elegance continues through to the Malipiero Restaurant, a fine dining space harking back to the era of banquets. From delicious homemade pasta doused in extra virgin olive oil to prime cuts of meat and locally grown vegetables, the chef prepares each dish with Italian gusto that will certainly make your mouth water.

  • Wellness moments inside and out: Oasi Spa is a cosy wellness space replete with a sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and plenty more, but your relaxation isn’t confined to the interiors. A large swimming pool greets you in the gardens, and in the summer months it’s a delight to bask in the natural beauty of the grounds.

Via Molino Ronchin, 1, 30174 Venezia VE, Italy

Although you might be happy whiling your days away within the grounds of the manor, there’s plenty of sights within easy reach. Soak up some history at Villa Pisani, one of the most stunning examples of grand Venetian architecture and a gem in the Brescian countryside. The villa is a half-hour drive away, and makes a great pit stop on your way to Padua, another 10-minute drive. Known as the City of a Thousand Faces, Padua is sometimes overlooked, but you’ll find yourself mesmerised by the myriad religious buildings and elaborate facades so typical of Italian cities. The markets of Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta are also worth checking out for their lively atmosphere.

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that Vence itself is just a 20-minute drive from the villa, where you’ll be able to stroll around the famous Piazza San Marco, or undertake a romantic gondola ride through the network of canals. The hotel provides a daily shuttle service to the city, so you won’t have to worry about parking.
