Embark on an adventure of Ice and Fire in stunning Iceland, with an expert-led tour to Game of Thrones filming locations - includes flights, breakfast and optional excursions

Although it didn't make its debut on the show until season two, Iceland has fast become an iconic landscape in the Game of Thrones universe. On this adventure, you'll journey beyond The Wall to see the real life locations of some of the most exciting, heartbreaking and altogether traumatising scenes in the show's history. While you explore The North, your costumed Game of Thrones guru guides (who were extras on set) will reveal behind-the-scenes stories from filming and introduce you to this incredible landscape from the show-makers' point of view.

On this exciting tour, you'll walk through the Bloody Gate in Þingvellir National Park, following Sansa and Littlefinger on their path to the Eyrie, and wander the land where the Wildlings roamed and The Hound and Brienne of Tarth fought for Arya. You'll even experience a haunting lodge in Þjórsárdalur valley; the sight of a massacre The North will never forget. Winter is coming, so take the opportunity to explore the lands in summer, before the White Walkers return once more.

For fascinating experiences of another kind, opt to enjoy a Snæfellsnes Peninsula tour which will have you marvelling at the jaw-dropping natural scenery - sights include the black lava pearl beach at Djúpalónssandu, the Snæfellsjökull Glacier and Kirkjufell mountain, as seen in Game of Thrones. Nature-lovers shouldn't miss their chance to explore Iceland's South Shore either, with an optional adventure that takes you to glaciers, black sand beaches and jagged lava pillars, as well as the bird-blanketed cliffs of Vik, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls.

Finally, opt to close out your fantastical trip with Blue Lagoon transfers (admission excluded) and even a whale and dolphin watching cruise, where you'll have the chance to spot minke whales, humpback whales and white-beaked dolphins. Occasionally, killer whales, fin whales and long-finned pilot whales will make an appearance, making this a truly special experience.

Your base will be Norðurey Hotel Reykjavik Road, just a 15-minute drive from the centre of Reykjavik. You're also within easy reach of the colourful port town of Hafnarfjörður, which is one of Iceland's oldest communities, going back as far as the 14th century. Explore its volcanic boulders and small caves, and pay a visit to the Hafnarborg Arts Centre and Hafnarfjörður Museum.
