Ngorongoro Crater

An unforgettable adventure to the ‘Safari Capital of the World’, taking in the celebrated national parks of the Serengeti, Lake Manyara and the iconic Ngorongoro Crater – includes all travel, a business class option and game drives

Day 1: Arusha

After landing into Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to the Arusha Serena Hotel, situated on the scenic shores of Lake Duluti. Enjoy free time to do as you please; don’t miss a chance to go souvenir shopping in some of Arusha’s bustling markets.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

After a morning at leisure, enjoy a safari briefing of what’s to come over a tasty lunch, then head off to Lake Manyara and check-in to the tranquil Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge. Once you’ve arrived, get settled in and enjoy the panoramic views over the shimming Lake Manyara, preferably with an ice-cold beer in hand. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti National Park

Tuck into a hearty breakfast this morning, then head off on a game drive through Lake Manyara and see if you can spot some of the resident animal species, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebra, spotted hyena and even tree-climbing lions. Then, head across the hilly countryside of the highlands into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you begin spotting wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Complete the formalities and enter the park with game viewing en route to the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, arriving in time for dinner. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives through the rolling savannahs and riverine valleys of the Serengeti National Park today, spotting wildlife as you drive. This is one of the world’s most famous national parks, playing host to the wildebeest migration where thousands of game species migrate over the border, followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and leopards. Spot the Big Five and more and see if you can spot some of the park’s more elusive species, such as honey badgers, secretary birds, caracals, porcupines and striped hyenas. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Post-breakfast, depart for the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch in the plains of the Serengeti. Continue to your lodge, the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Don't miss a chance to soak up the panoramic views of the crater from your own private balcony pre-dinner. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, journey down the 2,000 feet into the crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, and enjoy an action-packed game drive. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. It’s home to plentiful species of wildlife, including endangered black rhinos and lions, and you’ll stand a good chance of spotting them and much more. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Arusha

Depart Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast and head south-east past Lake Manyara and Mto Wa Mbu Village back to Arusha. On arrival, lunch is provided, then you’ll check-in to your flight back to the UK from Kilimanjaro International Airport. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)
