Day 1: Quito

Arrive in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Quito

Take a sightseeing tour to the city's historical areas, soaking up the history of this ancient Andean capital. Visit a traditional market to taste local fruits. Spend the afternoon at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Quito - Galapagos

Transfer to the Galapagos Islands by flight. Arrive at Baltra Airport, then transfer by boat to Santa Cruz, stopping for lunch at a private ranch en route. Look out for giant tortoises before visiting the lava tubes. Upon arrive in Santa Cruz, spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 4: Santa Cruz

At leisure in Galapagos, with an optional excursion to nearby uninhabited islands (£228 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Santa Cruz - San Cristobal

Spend the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, take the public speedboat to the island of San Cristobal, passing the island of Sante Fe en route. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. (Meals: breakfast)

At leisure on the island of San Cristobal, with an optional excursion to nearby uninhabited islands (£145 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Galapagos - Guayaquil

Head back to the mainland with a flight from Baltra. Arrive in Guayaquil, where you'll transfer to your hotel. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Guayaquil - Buenos Aires

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrive, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Buenos Aires

Take a guided tour of the city, visiting its most emblematic sites and monuments, such as the Plaza de Mayo, La Boca the Obelisk and the Casa Rosada - where Madonna performed the hit song Don't Cry For Me Argentina in her portrayal of Evita. Finish up in Palermo, the city's largest neighbourhood. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Buenos Aires

Spend the day at leisure, with an optional excursion to an Argentinian tango show with dinner (£54 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Buenos Aires - Iguazú

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguazú. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Iguazú

Visit the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls by taking the train to 'Devil's Throat'. Enjoy panoramic views and hear the roar of the water. Take an optional 'Iguazú Great Adventure' excursion (£63 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Iguazú

Visit the Brazilian side of Iguazú Falls - one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders. Walk on the well-placed viewing trails and enjoy spectacular views. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 14: Iguazú - Rio de Janeiro

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 15: Rio de Janeiro

Take a city tour of Rio, including Christ the Redeemer and the famous Corcovado Mountain (one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World). Descend to enjoy a visit to Maracanã and a visit to the Sambódromo, where the annual Rio Carnival takes place. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 16: Rio de Janeiro

At leisure in Rio de Janeiro, with an optional excursion to Sugar Loaf Mountain (£57 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 17: Rio de Janeiro - UK


Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home, back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 18: UK

Arrive back in the UK.

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
