An intrepid journey to enthralling Morocco, from colourful Marrakech to cultural Casablanca, plus a desert visit – includes all travel, half board and excursions. Fully refundable - book with confidence.

Days 1 & 2: Marrakech

Start your adventure in Morocco’s enigmatic capital. Marrakech is a city of maze-like markets, exotic aromas and otherworldly landscapes, with richly diverse architecture, cuisine and culture that reflect its vibrant history. Settle into Hotel Ibn Batouta and enjoy an evening exploring at your own pace, before embarking on an eye-opening city tour the next morning. You’ll visit the Minaret of Koutoubia, Palace of Bahia, and discover how spices and argan oil are made, before wandering the chaotic paths of Jemaa El-Fna, the city’s busiest market square. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 3: Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes - Fez

An action-packed day awaits today, with your first stop being cultural Casablanca, where a city tour will show you its highlights. Marvel at the Art Deco buildings and the Dar El Baida White House, before visiting the bustling Mohammed V Square and the more refined Anfa district. As you travel towards Fez, you’ll make two more stops: firstly to see the Kasbah of the Oudayas in Rabat, an imposing citadel located in the north of the city. It’s a fine example of Arab architecture, with its pristine white walls and cerulean façades. Then, as you pass through Meknes you’ll stop off at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, one of the only mosques in the country that non-Mulslims can visit. Finally, you’ll arrive in Fez to settle into Hotel L’escale. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 4: Fez

Today, you’ll delve deep into Fez, considered the centre of Islam in Morocco. Fez has always had a reputation for being a culture-rich and spiritualist city, which is evident in the patchwork of architectural styles and gorgeous buildings sprinkled in between souks and squares. On a city tour, you’ll get to admire panoramic views of the city, then visit the Royal Palace, the centre of Koranic studies and walk along the Boulevard of Mohamed V and the world’s largest medina. You’ll also notice a distinct lack of cars in the city centre, and that donkey carts and wagons are much more common. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 5: Midelt - Erfoud

Leaving Fez in the early morning, it’s time to weave your way through the dramatic Atlas Mountains towards Midelt, a city known for its apple cultivation, where you’ll stop for a while to see Berber life first hand. Erfoud, at the edge of the Sahara Desert, is your destination today. Tonight, you can opt to stay in a Berber camp in the dunes of the Sahara, which includes a traditional dinner and a 4x4 ride through the desert. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 6: Erfoud - Gorges of Todgha - Dades Valley - Kalaat M’Gouna - Ouarzazate

Today, you’ll visit the stunning Gorges of Todgha and the Dades Valley, two of the most picturesque areas in Morocco, both visions in sandstone red. Pass by marvellous ancient fortresses, and stop off in Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its roses and perfumes. Finish your day in Ouarzazate, a desert city. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 7: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

Embark on a visit to Kasbah of Taourit today, a beautiful Moroccan fortress that was once the former residence of the Lord of the Atlas region. Continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, one of the most beautiful areas in Morocco, which has often been used as a filming location for movies like Gladiator, The Mummy and Prince of Persia. In the afternoon, you’ll pass through the Atlas Mountains to make your way back to Morocco for one final night. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 8: Marrakech

Sadly, it’s time to head back to the UK and embark on your flight home. (Meals: breakfast)
