Day 1: UK - Night on board

Arrive at your departure airport and check in for your overnight flight to Tokyo. Please note, if your outbound flight leaves before 4am, you must arrive at the airport the night before the selected departure day. (Meals: none)

Day 2: Tokyo

Arrive in Tokyo and make your way to your hotel using your Japan Rail Pass. Spend the day here at leisure. Overnight in Tokyo. (Meals: none)

Day 3: Tokyo

Spend the day at leisure, or opt for a Mount Fuji excursion (chargeable), which will see you heading up to the 5th Station and stopping at the market and viewing area of Michi no Eki Subashiri, followed by lunch at Mount Fuji View Restaurant, sailing on Ashi Crater Lake, and a visit to Hakone to enjoy views from the Ropeway and take in the volcanic Owakudani Valley. Please note: If road conditions or unforeseen circumstances restrict the ascent to the 5th station, you will instead travel the highest elevation possible considering the circumstances. Similarly, if conditions or circumstances prevent sailing on Ashi Crater Lake, alternative visits and experiences will be taken to replace the activity. Overnight in Tokyo. (Meals: none)

Day 4: Tokyo

Take a Tokyo city tour, including the 'Love' sign and Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, the National Diet Building, the Imperial Palace, Senso-ji Temple, Kaminari-mon Gate, and Tokyo Station. Overnight in Tokyo. (Meals: none)

Day 5: Tokyo - Kyoto

Using your Japan Rail Pass, travel to Kyoto and spend the day at leisure. Overnight in Kyoto. (Meals: none)

Day 6: Kyoto

Take a half-day guided tour of Kyoto, including Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kyoto. (Meals: none)

Day 7: Kyoto - Osaka

Spend the morning at leisure and transfer to Osaka using your Japan Rail Pass. Spend the day at leisure in Osaka or opt for an afternoon walking tour (chargeable; not available in 2020), including a visit to Higashi-Umeda station, Tenmabashi station and Osaka Castle. Overnight in Osaka. (Meals: none)

Day 8: Osaka - Seoul

Using your Japan Rail Pass, self-transfer to the airport for your flight to Seoul. There, transfer to the hotel, take lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Seoul. (Meals: none)

Day 9: Seoul

After breakfast, take a tour of Jeonju, known for the Jeonju Hanok Heritage Village. Take lunch and further explore the city, before spending the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Seoul

Take an excursion to Nami Island, a natural haven home to free-roaming rabbits and other wildlife, followed by Petite France, a French-themed attraction centre, with breakfast and lunch included. Return to Seoul for an overnight stay. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Seoul

After breakfast, take a full-day city tour of Changdeokgung Palace, local markets, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jogyesa Buddhist Temple, before an authentic lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight in Seoul. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Seoul - UK

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
