Fabulous Rome stay at a converted Venetian palace near the famous Via Veneto - with breakfast, aperitif and dining discount

Old-fashioned glamour finds its home at this grandiose and good-looking residence just 400 metres from Via Veneto – Rome’s famous boulevard that was immortalised in Federico Fellini’s 1960 film La Dolce Vita. A former Venetian palace that was converted into a hotel and glammed up by young Roman architects Raniero Botti and Gianfranco Mangiarotti, Empire Palace Hotel comes with grown-up colour schemes, courteous staff who go that extra mile, and original architecture that’s intact.

The look in each of the individually-designed guest rooms and suites is one of fabulousness and functionality; think floor-to-ceiling drapes, lavish soft furnishings, carpeted flooring, and lashings of classic décor. All come with very comfortable beds dressed with thick mattresses, luxe linens and a choice of pillows and flatscreen TVs with satellite channels and pay-per-view movies.

Elsewhere, you’ll find a handy gym with resistance and cardio machines, free weights and a stretch bar, and a very inviting flagship restaurant for ingredient-driven Italian cuisine. There’s also a relaxing bar housed in the palace’s old stables where the pink brick vaults, cobalt blue walls, and oil paintings are just as impressive as the spirits, cocktails, and nightly piano music.
