An excursion-packed Iceland tour split between Reykjavik and Vik, with Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, Northern Lights, Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and more

Iceland is a dream destination, gracing the top of many a traveller’s wishlist thanks to its wealth of simply stunning natural beauty. This is a fantastical land, with natural hot springs bubbling below the surface, eye-wateringly beautiful scenery above ground, and a sky that dances with the Northern Lights when it's not basking in the midnight sun.

During this escape split between Reykjavik and Vik, you’ll experience the best of it all, with a fully escorted tour and English-speaking guide ensuring you make the most of your time here. You’ll dip into the thermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, navigate the natural wonders of the Golden Circle, and head out on missions to spot the enigmatic Northern Lights too.

A tour to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon will see you happily snapping a landscape of black sands and mighty icebergs, whilst a volcanoes and waterfalls tour will take in impressive peaks and thundering falls. You’ll learn about Iceland’s geology at the Lava Centre, with its volcano and earthquake exhibition, and you’ll even visit an Icelandic farm, with resident horses and a geothermal greenhouse.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are of course a naturally occurring phenomenon, so while you will have a good chance of seeing them (and we'll cross our fingers for you), we cannot guarantee they will oblige.

For the two nights spent in Reykjavik you will be allocated one of three hotels depending on availability and for the two nights spent in Vik you will be allocated one of two hotels depending on availability. You will not have the option to choose which of the hotels you stay in.

Day 1: Arrive in Reykjavik and check into your hotel.
Day 2: Meet your guide and set out on a Golden Circle tour, taking in Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir area and Gullfoss waterfall. You'll also visit a stud farm breeding Icelandic horses, alongside which is a tomato farm which uses natural geothermal waters to produce its tomatoes. In the afternoon, stop at the Lava Centre, where you'll find a large volanoes and earthquakes exhibition. Then, you'll continue on to Vik, where you'll spend the night. In the evening, you'll head out to hunt for the Northern Lights.
Day 3: Take a day's excursion along the southeast coast, taking in dramatic fjords and plains, black-sand beaches and lava fields, before reaching Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. En route back to Vik, visit Skaftafell National Park, and if you had no luck finding the Northern Lights the night before, you'll head out on another hunt.
Day 4: Return to Reykjavik along the south coast, stopping at two magnificent waterfalls en route – Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. Visit the Blue Lagoon and enjoy a soak in the thermal waters, before checking back into your Reykjavik hotel.
Day 5: Check out of your hotel and catch your flight home.
