Admire the awe-inspiring ancient wonders of Jordan and Egypt, from the rose-red city of Petra to the unfathomable Pyramids of Giza, then cruise along the Nile - includes breakfast throughout, some dinners, excursions and all travel

Day 1: UK - Amman

Hop on a flight to Jordan’s capital from your chosen UK airport, spending the night on board.

Day 2: Amman

Arrive in the chaotic, captivating Jordanian capital, a place where culture, religion and cuisine blend seamlessly to create complete enchantment. You’ll have breakfast at the hotel, then have the rest of the day to explore - we recommend hunting out the umbrella stairs, visiting the King Hussein II Mosque or initiating yourself into Ammani life at Hashem’s, the city’s favourite restaurant. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 3: Amman - Jerash - Ajloun - Amman

Spend the morning on a city tour of Amman, admiring the Citadel - perched on Amman’s highest hill, and the Roman Theatre. Then, journey north to Jerash to wander through its ancient monuments and sights, before moving on to Ajloun Castle, which is located on a mountaintop and affords fantastic views. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 4: Amman - Petra - Wadi Rum

After an early breakfast, set off towards Wadi Musa, home to the indescribable ancient Nabatean city of Petra. This UNESCO World Heritage Site and wonder of the world is a sight which defies explanation, as you’ll soon come to discover. Spend your day meandering through the complex, from the world-famous Treasury to the high-up Monastery (the 800 steps are worth it!). In the late afternoon, continue to Wadi Rum for a 4x4 adventure, then have dinner under the stars. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 5: Wadi Rum - Aqaba

Aqaba is up next; Jordan’s answer to a beach resort perched right on the banks of the Red Sea. Spend the day here at your leisure, relaxing on the beach or enjoying the wonders hidden underwater. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 6: Aqaba - Cairo

Today you’ll transfer to Aqaba’s airport for a flight to Cairo, on the other side of the Red Sea. Transfer to your hotel on arrival, then spend the rest of the day exploring on your own - why not climb Cairo Tower for incredible views across the city. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Cairo - Luxor

Hop on another flight this morning, this time heading to Luxor, where you’ll transfer to the port to board your Nile cruise. Get settled and enjoy lunch, then visit the Temple of Karnak in the afternoon, and the Temple of Luxor. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 8: Luxor - Esna - Edfu

You’ll begin today with a visit to the Valley of the Kings and Queens, resting place of Tutankhamun. In the afternoon, visit the Colossi of Memnon. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 9: Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan

Wake up to breakfast on the Nile, then visit the amazing Edfu Temple, dedicated to Horus, before continuing on to Kom Ombo to visit the Nilometer. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 10: Aswan

Today you’ll be exploring Aswan, including the High Dam and red granite quarry, where blocks for the pyramids were produced. In the afternoon, take a tranquil ride on a traditional felucca fishing boat. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 11: Aswan - Cairo

After breakfast join an optional excursion to Abu Simbel (£124 per person), to visit the temples carved on the western cliff of the desert by Rameses II and the temple of Nefertari. Later, you’ll say goodbye to your Nile boat and fly back to Cairo, to enjoy the evening at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Cairo

Finish off your unforgettable getaway with a visit to the ancient Egyptian site you’ve been waiting for: The Pyramids of Giza. Learn about their fascinating history and walk in the footsteps of the Pharoahs. End the day walking through the Khan el Khalili neighbourhood, home to the city’s largest bazaar. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Cairo - UK

Your adventure ends here. Head to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
