Boston

Your journey begins in the heart of historic Boston, a charming city awash with cobblestone streets, leafy parks and age-old monuments. With such a storied past, you’ll feel enveloped in history at every twist and turn - whether strolling along the museum-dotted Freedom Trail, admiring the vast collections at the Museum of Fine Arts or taking a trip to the hallowed halls of nearby Harvard.

Cruise itinerary

Day 1: Boston - At sea

Depart Boston, spending your first night at sea. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: Bar Harbor

Sitting pretty along Maine’s Frenchmen Bay, Bar Harbor is known as the gateway to the scenic Acadia National Park. With its lush mountain range towering in the distance and glistening ocean waters at every turn, there’s plenty of outdoor adventure to get stuck into - from kayaking and biking to nature tours and golf. There’s also a thriving dining scene here, with freshly caught seafood and locally grown produce peppering almost every menu. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 3: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Your next stop is Halifax, Nova Scotia, a picture-perfect coastal town characterised by its historic red-brick buildings and four-kilometre waterfront boardwalk with sweeping views stretching out to sea. Visit the hilltop Halifax Citadel National Historic Sight for glittering views of the harbour below, stroll the idyllic wooded trails of Point Pleasant Park or learn more about the history of this charming seaside town at the Maritime Museum. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4: Sydney, Nova Scotia

Next you’ll arrive in Sydney, the largest city on Cape Breton Island. Head to the harbour to shop for locally made crafts and glimpse the world’s largest fiddle towering beside the pavilion before stopping to sample seafood in the crop of nearby restaurants. If you’re in the mood for culture, take a tour of some of the old-world homes of the 18th and 19th centuries. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 5: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Today you’ll dock in pretty Charlottetown. Small yet perfectly formed, there’s plenty to see and do in the Birthplace of Confederation, whether admiring the home that inspired classic novel Anne of Green Gables, strolling along beautiful beaches at Prince Edward Island National Park or shopping along the picturesque Victoria Row. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6: Cruising the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Trace the footsteps of pioneering explorer Jacques Carter as you sail into the expansive Gulf of St.Lawrence, Canada’s largest estuary connected to 10 provinces feeding all the way to the Great Lakes, 750 miles away. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 7: Quebec City

Dock in Quebec City, a historic metropolis with UNESCO World Heritage status to its name. With a mostly French-speaking population, you’ll find a fusion of rich cuisine to sample here. Drink in the beauty of the grand Place-Royale or visit the iconic battlefield on the Plains of Abraham where the British defeated the French in 1759. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 8: Cruising the St. Lawrence River

Cruise along the 750-mile stretch of St. Lawrence River, spying 40 lighthouses, centuries-old fishing villages and rugged cliffs along the way. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 9: Montreal

Depart in Montreal, the largest city in Canada’s Quebec province boasting a vibrant festival, arts and foodie scene. Flanked by the picturesque Mount Royal and sitting on the Lake Superior basin, this French-infused metropolis is decidedly easy on the eye. Spend time soaking up the beauty of the Botanical Gardens, admiring the stained glass windows of Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal or taking a peek at the art exhibits in between bar-hopping at the Old Port of Montreal.
