A fantastic escape to Thailand, with a culture-filled tour that takes you from city to beach - including excursions and all travel
You'll touch down in the bustling Thai capital and head straight for the urban oasis of AETAS Bangkok. Spend your time kicking back in the chic and stylish spa or cooling off in the sizeable pool, while deciding which of the city's historic sights to see next - you're just minutes from the Skytrain after all. Whilst here, you’ll take a half-day city tour, covering three of the city's many temples and the opulent Grand Palace.
Next, you'll spend a day exploring Ayutthaya's ancient ruins, Bang Pa-In Royal Palace and Phra Thinang Wehart Chamrun, as well as tucking into lunch at a local restaurant before bedding down for a night at the very charming Kantary Hotel. Next day, you'll visit Phitansulok's Wat Mahathat and enjoy lunch before heading to your next destination: Sukhothai, which means “the dawn of happiness”. You'll enjoy an overnight stay here at Sukhothai Heritage Resort, which perfectly unites tradition with excellent facilities and services.
It's then on to Chiang Mai, a romantic city known for its cultural charm and agricultural heritage. After a leisurely lunch, you'll head to the 600-year-old Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple near the summit of Doi Suthep mountain (from which point marvellous city views can be taken in on clear days), followed by a visit to Wat Suan Dok, Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh temples. Further sights worth exploring at leisure during your next two days in Chiang Mai include the National Museum and Elephant Nature Park sanctuary, where you can get up close to gentle giants.
Then, it’s time to slow it all down, for six serene nights on the gorgeous Thai coast. X10 Khaolak Resort is set in Bang La On, between the beaches of Nang Thong and Bang Niang, and offers golden sands, azure waters and swaying palms. There are five swimming pools to flit between here, as well as a pool bar and a beach bar, should you need to refuel with a refreshment. Enjoy fresh fish in the seafood restaurant and both Thai and international cuisine in the main restaurant - but not before some time spent in the tranquil spa, of course.
