Day 1: UK/Ireland - Night on board

Depart your airport of choice to Tokyo. Overnight on board.

Day 2: Tokyo

Arrive in Tokyo and transfer to your hotel using your Japan Rail Pass. Spend the day at leisure before an overnight stay.

Day 3: Tokyo

Take an excursion to Mount Fuji today: head to the 5th Station, stopping at the market and viewing area of Michi no Eki Subashiri. After lunch at Mount Fuji View Restaurant, visit Ashi Crater Lake and take in the mountain views as you sail on the lake. Then, head to Hakone and enjoy the views from the Ropeway. Return to Tokyo, with the option of ending the excursion at Odawara Station. Overnight in Tokyo. Please note that should road conditions or unforeseen circumstances restrict the ascent to the 5th Station, you will instead travel to the highest possible elevation; equally, if you're unable to sail on Ashi Crater Lake, you will enjoy alternative visits and experiences instead. (Meals: lunch)

Day 4: Tokyo

Take a half-day Tokyo tour, including the 'Love' sign, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine and the National Diet Building. Then, visit the Imperial Palace and Asakusa (including Senso-ji Temple and Kaminari-mon Gate). End the tour at Tokyo Station. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 5: Tokyo - Kyoto

Using your Japan Rail Pass, travel to Kyoto and spend the day here at leisure. Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 6: Kyoto

Take a half-day guided tour of Kyoto, including Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine and Kyoto's Imperial Palace, including its pretty garden. Then, visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine's main hall before spending the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 7: Kyoto

Spend the day at leisure in Kyoto, with the option of visiting Nara (Todai-ji Temple, Kofuku-ji Temple and Nara Park; £57pp). Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 8: Kyoto - Seoul

Using your Japan Rail Pass, transfer to Osaka Airport for your flight to Seoul. Transfer to your hotel in time for lunch (please note, if your flight arrives in Seoul after 12pm, lunch will not be included) and spend the day at leisure. Overnight in Seoul. (Meals: lunch)

Day 9: Seoul

After breakfast, take a tour of Jeonju - known for the Jeonju Hanok Heritage Village and its traditional houses and craft shops. After lunch, further explore Jeonju before returning to Seoul and spending the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Seoul. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 10: Seoul

Today you'll take an excursion to Nami Island and French-themed attraction centre, Petite France, with breakfast and lunch included. The island is home to free-roaming rabbits and other wildlife, perfect for a day out in nature, while Petite France features an Eiffel Tower and chateau-style buildings. Return to Seoul for an overnight stay. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 11: Seoul

After breakfast, spend a full day discovering the architecture and landscape of Seoul, including Changdeokgung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jogyesa Buddhist Temple, before lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the rest of the day at leisure before an overnight stay. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 12: Seoul - UK/Ireland

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK/Ireland, where your trip ends. (Meals: breakfast)
