A charming base in postcard-perfect Bruges, an easy 100 metres from the iconic main square - including breakfast and Eurostar or Eurotunnel travel

Fairy-tale medieval towns don’t come much more beguiling than bridge-laden Bruges. With its chocolate box architecture, criss-cross of prettily twisted lanes and photogenic market squares stuffed with spire-topped churches, it’s the stuff of storybooks – and the newly refurbished Hotel Aragon is likely to deliver a pretty happy ending.

In such salubrious surroundings, it’s not hard for hotels to get it right here – but, having undergone a £2 million makeover, Hotel Aragon manages a rather appealing mix of the traditional and the contemporary that’s sure to impress. Comprised of spacious rooms and apartments in the centre of the city, Hotel Aragon lies 100 metres away from Bruges’ famous Market Square.

Rooms are decorated in a chic and contemporary design, with warm hues, modern furnishings and welcoming touches adding a little luxe to proceedings. In the morning, head down for a buffet breakfast before exploring the town’s breathtakingly photogenic streets (pausing for a regular refill of pralines and pastries, of course, en route). Unsurprisingly, Hotel Aragon sports a deserved TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
