Day 1: UK/Ireland - night on board

Arrive at the airport to check in for your overnight flight to Chile. If your outbound flight leaves at dawn (before 4am), you must arrive at the airport the night before the selected departure day.

Day 2: Santiago

After checking into the hotel, spend the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring this beautiful city encircled by the Andes mountains and with a charming historic centre. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Santiago


Go on a city tour, from the cobblestoned neighbourhood of Lastarria, filled with 19th-century mansions, to Santa Lucia Hill and its amazing views. See Plaza de Armas, Santiago Cathedral, La Moneda government house, impressive Plaza de la Constitución and busy Central Market. You'll also stop at a lapis lazuli shop selling handicrafts and jewellery. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Santiago

The day is yours to explore and relax at your own pace. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Santiago - Mendoza

Fly across the border to Mendoza, famed for its wine and olive oil in the leafy foothills of Argentina's eastern Andes. Transfer to the hotel and check in. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Mendoza

You'll go on a Mendoza tour, visiting Foundational Plaza where the city was born in 1561, the Jesuit ruins, Basilica of San Francisco, and San Martín Park. End at Cerro de la Gloria hill and return to the hotel to spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Mendoza - Villavicencio Nature Reserve - Mendoza


Head off on a 4x4 excursion to Villavicencio Nature Reserve, through incredible natural landscapes and wildlife-filled gorges. See Manto de Cobre, a 19th-century frontier-type town that operated gold and silver mines and now home to foxes, hares, armadillos, ferrets and the Andean Condor. Enjoy panoramic scenes at the Cerro Aconcagua Viewpoint, before returning to Mendoza. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Mendoza - Buenos Aires

Today you fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital. On arrival, check in and spend time exploring. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Buenos Aires

Take a guided city tour to the most emblematic sites and monuments, like Plaza de Mayo, La Boca, the Obelisk and Casa Rosada - where Madonna performed the hit song Don't Cry For Me Argentina in her portrayal of Evita. End in the largest neighbourhood, Palermo. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Buenos Aires

Spend the day at leisure, seeing some more of the city and savouring the steak and pasta. There's an optional Argentinian tango show with dinner (£64 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Buenos Aires - Iguazú

Fly north to humid Iguazú and check into your hotel. Discover your jungly surroundings by bike, if time allows. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Iguazú

Visit the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls via a train to 'Devil's Throat', for panoramic jungle views and the thunderous roar of water. There's an optional Iguazú Great Adventure excursion (£59 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Iguazú

Compare yesterday's scenes with the Brazilian side of Iguazú Falls - one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 14: Iguazú - Rio de Janeiro

Fly further north to Brazil's Rio de Janeiro. Check into to your hotel and relax. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 15: Rio de Janeiro

Take a Rio city tour, including Christ the Redeemer, the famous Corcovado Mountain, Maracanã football stadium and the Sambódromo, where Rio Carnival takes place. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 16: Rio de Janeiro

Enjoy time at leisure, with the chance to go on an optional excursion to Sugar Loaf Mountain (£54 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 17: Rio de Janeiro - night on board

It's time to fly overnight back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
