Chateau de la Tour du Puits

Savoie, France

A luxury stay at a fairy-tale château nestled at the foot of the French alps - with breakfast included

For a fairytale hideaway with a touch of luxury, this enchanting ivy-clad château is just the ticket with its delightful setting nestled at the foot of the French Alps - within easy reach of awe-inspiring and adventurous alpine pursuits. Built in the 18th-century and set among emerald-green pines and beautifully manicured lawns carved neatly by a stately driveway, you'll be sure to unwind and relax amongst sweeping mountain views and plenty of the homely delights on offer at this seven-room, charismatic castle abode.

Behind the château's rustic facade, you'll find quirky furnishings, smatterings of period décor and contemporary comforts like flatscreen TVs and Wi-Fi. The majestic ambiance continues in the restaurant, where classic French fare is served by the fireplace, overlooking the gardens. With a day out in the mountains hiking, biking (bike rental available) or skiing, you'll be well-primed for some quiet time in the château's library or a session at the sumptuous spa, which includes an outdoor Jacuzzi, sauna lodge and outdoor pool.

For those who fancy treating themselves to something extra special, the château can organise private helicopter and plane flights, offering panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the Savoy lakes as well as heli-skiing and heli-golfing in the summer months. There's also the option to try out the pilot seat for yourself with a flying lesson or for something a little more culture-crammed, visit nearby castles and strongholds, museums and the medieval towns, as well as the obligatory vineyard, of course.
