Homely stay in the middle of the Dordogne countryside in a medieval château with a Michelin-starred restaurant – including breakfast and a house cocktail

Originally built in the 13th and 15th centuries, the enchanting Château de Castel Novel is a historic bolthole situated in the middle of France’s rolling, verdant Dordogne region. Formerly the home of the late politician Henry de Jouvenel and his novel-writing wife, Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, Château de Castel Novel is set in a 16-acre park, and boasts a restaurant that makes full use of the delicious and famed local and seasonal ingredients, and plenty of space to enjoy the hotel’s wellness and sports facilities – take a dip in the refreshing outdoor pool, play a game or two of tennis, play boules on the lawn or hire a bike and explore the nearby towns and villages in this historic, French heartland. The hotel also holds a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
