Day 1: UK - Entebbe

Leave the UK on board a flight to Entebbe, spending the night on board.

Day 2: Entebbe

Touch down in Entebbe, Uganda’s lakeside city, which sits on the edge of Lake Victoria. Spend the afternoon at leisure relaxing in your hotel or exploring the city.

Day 3: Entebbe - Kibale National Park

This morning you’ll set off to Kibale Forest National Park; arrive and check-in, then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. This huge protected rainforest is home to plenty of primates, and hopefully, you’ll be blessed enough to get up close and personal with some over the next few days. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Kibale National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you’ll have some time to chill out in the incredible surrounds, or you can opt to venture out into the forest on a chimpanzee-tracking excursion (£160 per person). Trek through the lush greenery with your expert guide as they track the chimps. Hopefully, you’ll find a group and be able to watch them go about their daily activities, from climbing and feeding to noisily interacting with each other. In the afternoon, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you’ll rise early for a sunrise game drive, giving you the best chance to see the wildlife of the region - from lions and buffalo to hyenas and leopards - as they’re waking up. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast, then later, head out on a cruise along the Kanziga Channel, famous for its hippos and crocodiles. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, drive south through the Ishashs area, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Keep your eyes peeled as you make your way to the southern part Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, spending the afternoon at leisure upon arrival. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today’s the day you’ve been waiting for - your chance to see the elusive, endangered mountain gorillas in the flesh. You’ll register at the park office then set out into the magical rainforest, admiring birds and butterflies as you hike to find your assigned gorilla family. Watch in awe as these giant mammals play, feed and interact together - a truly unforgettable experience. Trek back to the lodge in the evening. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Lake Mburo

Bid Bwindi goodbye and head towards Lake Mburo, which sits right on the border between Uganda and Tanzania, watching out for game as you drive. Arrive and spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Lake Mburo - Entebbe - Night on board

This morning, opt either to venture out on a game drive or a fascinating guided forest walk. On your way back to Entebbe you’ll stop at the equator and visit the Royal Drum Makers of Mpambire. Once in Entebbe, you’ll be taken to the airport for your flight home. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: UK

Land back home, keeping the memories of your incredible trip close.
