Explore enchanting southern India on a private tour from historic Cochin to tea country and the serene backwaters of Alleppey, followed by a beach-villa break at a luxury Maldives resort

Days 1-2: Cochin

Your private tour of Kerala begins in Cochin, a vibrant trading post where spices, coffee and wood have historically changed hands. After a restful first day, you’ll head out in the morning for a cooking demo with lunch at a local residence. In the afternoon, visit Mattancherry Dutch Palace, Jew Town and the Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church (the oldest European church in India) and the Chinese fishing nets that are unique to this city. In the evening, relax with a traditional Keralan dance performance.

Day 3: Cochin - Munnar

Today you’ll travel to Munnar, a sublimely scenic hill station where cooler climes await. The region is a tapestry of tea plantations with colonial bungalows, tea factories, wildlife sanctuaries and lakes.

Day 4: Munnar

Visit India’s original tea museum, where you can learn about the journey from the manual tea roller to modern-day methods of harvesting. Afterwards, venture out of Munnar to visit the Mattupetty Dam, which sits at an altitude of 1,700 metres on the way up to Top Station - so expect glorious panoramic views of the green hills.

Day 5: Munnar - Alleppey backwaters

After breakfast, you’ll travel to the backwaters of Alleppey for a traditional houseboat - or ‘kettuvallom’ experience. You’ll spend the night on board, cruising around the tranquil Venice of the East in true Keralan style.

Day 6: Alleppey backwaters - Kumarakom

Enjoy a morning on the water before disembarking and transferring to your next hotel in Kumarakom, where you can relax and enjoy activities including cycling and lake watersports.

Day 7: Kumarakom - Cochin - Maldives

Check out and transfer to Cochin International airport for your onward flight to the Maldives.

Days 8- : Maldives

After a spellbinding tour of Kerala, enjoy complete rest and relaxation on Kandima Island in the remote Dhaalu Atoll. Here in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the impossibly clear waters are a major draw for aquatic ventures like diving and snorkelling. Tours led by the resort's experienced dive guides will get you up close to marine life like dolphins, sea turtles and reef sharks. If you total immersion isn’t for you, make a splash with activities including parasailing, kayaking, surfing and big game fishing, or simply unwind on Kandima’s soda-white sands.
