An action-packed 11-night trip to incredible Peru, with guided tours, a Machu Picchu excursion, all travel and more

Discover fascinating Peru with this 11-night trip that takes you from the country's capital to arguably its most iconic historic site - Machu Picchu - with plenty packed in between. Local guides along the way will help you make the most of your time here, and further highlights include city tours in both Lima and Cusco, a visit to the Koricancha or the Sun Temple (a Catholic monument built on the foundations of an Inca Temple), some time in the folklore capital of Puno and a boat trip out onto Lake Titicaca to visit some of its 65 floating islands.

Your journey starts in Lima, where a city tour will see you orientated in no time, before moving on to Cusco, with a city tour here too, as well as some time at leisure. The Sacred Valley and Urubamba are up next, with a visit to a traditional market in Pisac and the Inca constructions of Ollantaytambo. You'll catch the train to Aguas Calientes, from where you'll take the bus to Machu Picchu and enjoy a two-hour guided walking tour around the site.

Peru's folklore capital of Puno is up next (famous for its weaving), which you'll make your way to on the Titicaca train, on which you can enjoy the two dining cars decorated in the style of the Pullman cars of the 1920s. From Puno, you'll take a boat ride on Lake Titicaca to visit two of the 65 floating islands, as well as Taquile Island - the home of a traditional Quechua-speaking community. You'll have some time at leisure in Puno before returning to Lima, where you'll spend one final night, before catching your flight home.

Can't commit to booking right now?

Hold a date for only £25 while you decide.

  • Pay £25 to hold a date until the end of the sale.
  • If you choose to buy it, the money will go towards your purchase, if not, the cash will be credited to your Secret Escapes account.
