Day 1: UK - Lima

Touch down in Lima, the so-called City of Kings, and transfer to your hotel in the lively district of Miraflores. Later on, opt to enjoy a walking tour with a welcome dinner and a Pisco Sour tasting session. (£95 per person) (Meals: none)

Day 2: Lima

Get to know the city more in-depth today as you wander past picturesque churches and exquisite colonial architecture on a guided walking tour. You'll visit the ancient ceremonial centre known as 'Huaca Pucllana', which was built centuries before the arrival of the Spanish, as well as the imposing Lima Cathedral and the Santo Domingo Convent. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Lima - Cusco

After a hearty breakfast, get whisked off to the airport and hop aboard a flight to Cusco, the archaeological capital of the Americas. Spend the rest of the day here at leisure and opt to enjoy a cooking class (£45 per person), a city tour (£39 per person) or a traditional folklore show (£22 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Cusco


After breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore Cusco, the continent's oldest continuously inhabited city. Opt to enjoy a tour of the Sacred Valley (£46 per person), Rainbow Mountain (£105 per person) or Maras Moray (£46 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Cusco - Aguas Calientes

Hop aboard a train today to Aguas Calientes, otherwise known as the gateway to Machu Picchu. Also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, this town lies in a deep gorge below the ruins. A virtual island, it's cut off from all roads and enclosed by stone cliffs, towering cloud forest, and two rushing rivers. Aguas Calientes is surrounded by thermal hot springs, on arrival there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy a hot bath in the natural springs. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Wake up early for breakfast before our guide will pick you up from your hotel at 5:40 am to begin the short bus journey to the gates of Machu Picchu where you will watch the sunrise. After entering the Citadel begin a guided walking tour of the citadel complex, opting to climb Wayna Picchu for a bird's eye view if you're feeling fit (£34 per person). Then, return to Cusco via train. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Cusco - Puno

Jump aboard a bus today to Puno and stop at four intriguing sites along the way. These include the Raqchi (Wiracocha God Temple) and the Pukara, the oldest and most important ceremonial of the altiplano. You can also opt to take the luxury train from Cusco to Puno, often considered one of the most beautiful train jounreys anywhere on the planet (£164 per person). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Puno - Uros, Taquile & Luquina islands - Puno


After breakfast, sail out onto the deep blue waters of magical Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake said to be the birthplace of the Incas. Stop off at the Uros Islands, a series of floating islands made entirely out of reeds. Later on, sail towards Taquile Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a traditional Andean buffet lunch and plenty of free time. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 9: Puno - Lima

Fly back to Lima today where you'll transfer onto your flight back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)

This holiday allows you to spread the cost of your break by paying only the deposit upfront. The remaining balance is due at a later date and is to be paid directly to the holiday supplier (the exact date will be stated on your booking confirmation).

What is a deposit?

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
