An inviting AAA Four Diamond winner in New England, boasting a world-class spa and exceptional tennis and dining

Elevate your Green Mountain getaway at a retreat that aims as high as the peaks themselves – and looks onto the slopes from its dining room. Set just two miles from Mount Mansfield, the tallest summit in the state, Topnotch Resort pledges to take your rustic Vermont vacation to the next level. Complete with a friendly bistro, a fireplace-dotted spa with a waterfall hot tub, and rooms with a plush pillow-top mattress apiece, it’s a luxurious spin on the family-friendly, full-service retreat. But don’t take our word for it – just read The New York Times review, which declared that the property "earns its name."

Also honored with a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, Topnotch Resort does an admirable job of integrating itself into its Stowe surroundings. And in fact, holding its hospitality to a sky-high standard is just one of the ways that it goes about this. Outside the hotel are nearly 120 acres of land, which are otherwise wooded and mostly wild, like those of the greater region. Depending on the season, you can snowshoe, cross-country ski, mountain bike, horseback ride or play shuffleboard or bocce (tennis is available year-round) – all the classic Vermont outdoor recreation, short of skiing (available at nearby Stowe Mountain).
