Exotic nine-night tour of Cuba starting in hip Havana, with all travel, four hotels and multiple guided excursions
Hip, exotic and utterly unique, this is one Caribbean island where the spectacular beaches are by no means the main attraction. A cultural gem, Cuba entices travellers with its vintage charm, lively rum bars, tobacco plantations and monuments to revolution.
Our nine-night tour starts with a three-night stay in fashionable, faded Havana, staying at the five-star Iberostar Parque Central. Join a walking tour through the Spanish colonial city, taking in the four main plazas, before lunching on flame-grilled Cajun food at little-black-book restaurant, El Patio. Next you'll jump into one of the city's famous classic American cars to get around in the most Instagram-able way possible; rolling through the exclusive Miramar district, the wave-lapped Malécon and to iconic Revolution Square.
Your next destination is hyper-green, jaw-droppingly beautiful Vinales. En-route, you'll stop at the world-famous UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, a huge expanse of evergreen forest interspersed with cascading waterfalls. Visit the 19th century Buena Vista coffee plantation and see the lazy River of San Juan, then check into Hotel los Jazmines for a two-night stay with breathtaking views over the plains. Descend into the phenomenal, mist-covered Vinales valley, where you'll take a boat ride past dramatic limestone outcrops to the mouth of an Indian cave, before exploring charming Vinales town.
After a night at Jagua Hotel, surrounded by the French colonnaded buildings of Cienfuegos, you'll take a local walking tour, lunching at the ornate Palacio del Valle restaurant with its famous rooftop bar. Next, it's south to the traditional coastal town of Trinidad, a colourful community of casas particulares and more museums than anywhere else on the island. Here, you'll spend two nights at an all-inclusive beach resort, with a tour lined up to take you through the cobblestone streets to Palacio Canter Museum and the fun Canchachara bar; before returning to Havana for one final night in the capital.
Flights are included from London Gatwick with Virgin Atlantic (including access to the Executive Lounge on departure), as well as all transfers throughout your tour. Accommodation in Havana, Cienfuegos and Vinales is on a bed and breakfast basis, and on an all-inclusive basis in Trinidad. Six lunches are also included, as well as all entrance fees and travel for specified guided excursions (please see Hotel details tab and Offer details for the full list). As well as a packed itinerary, the tour has been designed so that you'll also have plenty of time to relax and explore independently.
Please note: Your inbound flight from Havana is overnight, so whilst this is a nine-night tour, you'll be away for a total of 10 nights. There also just two departure dates (one in November, one in February), so fast booking is recommended.
